This sounds silly, but I can't believe what a difference this potato masher makes. The one I was using I had had for over twenty years and never realized it was the reason I couldn't get the creamy consistency I wanted. This potato masher gets that creamy texture in no time flat, and the curved shape fits nicely in the pan.

But it's also a powerful mashing implement, broad and sturdy, with a handle that sustains the user's downward pressure, easily transferring it to the waiting root vegetable.Made of sturdy, 18/10, stainless-steel, this kitchen essential efficiently mashes sweet potatoes for a holiday side dish, or baked Russets for baby food--with even consistency every time. It has a wider bottom than many--measuring 4-3/4 by 3 inches--along with small oval-shaped holes that produce a smoother finish.
